Indonesian Tourist Guide Association

Founded in 1969 as the Bali Guide Association (BGA), HPI has grown from humble beginnings into Indonesia’s only nationwide tour guide association.

In 1988, during its inaugural National Congress in South Sumatra, the association embraced a broader vision and officially became Himpunan Pramuwisata Indonesia (HPI), also known as the Indonesian Tourist Guide Association (ITGA).

Today, HPI proudly represents a network of skilled and passionate tour guides in every province, regency, and city across the archipelago.

Whether welcoming international visitors or accompanying local travelers, HPI members are the heart of Indonesia’s tourism industry, offering exceptional service and authentic cultural insights that enrich every journey.
